Guest guest Posted November 26, 2005 Report Share Posted November 26, 2005 From Taste of Home Finnish Christmas Cookies 2 cups butter, softened 1 cup sugar 4 cups all purpose flour 1 egg, beaten 2/3 cup finely chopped almonds colored sugar In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the flour. Cover and refrigerate for one hour. Roll out onto a well floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Brush lightly with egg. Sprinkle with almonds and colored sugar. Using a fluted pastry cutter or knife, cut into a 2 inch x 1 inch strips. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
