Doreen -- just curious as to where you live now. Maybe Canada, or another

English speaking land. But I have lived in many countries, and find them

all stimulating -- the longest in France (6 years) but also in Japan, and

the Philippines. But traveled everywhere I think -- and I like everywhere

I have ever been. Finally came back to the US -- and what an adjustment at

first, but I think I'm over it now.

Of course we have many on the list from Canada -- a beautiful country where

the beauty of flowers has never been forgotten (love the flowers on the

light posts in Victoria, BC).

These days I live in California. Actually I love it -- it has much natural

beauty, mountains, sea coasts, etc. I live in San Jose, which has some of

the best weather anywhere in the world. And I try very hard to just ignore

the political upheavals -- in the long run, none of that is ever going to

make any difference to me. Learned a long time ago to not fight city

hall -- ignoring it is much better.

And I too believe in saying what you believe without apologies. And I

don't have any idea what IMO means, and don't think I need to learn either.

That's not my style.

Nita, a generation has passed since I lived in the States. Something

has changed, and I don't think for the better.

Why in the world should anyone be concerned about having offended

someone for offering the benefit of their own experience to them.

And why the mealy-mouthed IMO after every sentence on the net? Some

things are matters of opinion. I think purple is prettier than pink

is my opinion. That a person should be more concerned with getting

distilled water in their diet in the form of fresh fruits and

vegetables than be concerned about protein is fact. Why the

ubiquitous apologies and IMO's I see over all the net?

Excuse me for sounding like a dinosaur, but I remember Americans as

being people who had opinions and didn't apologize for them all the

time.
