Guest guest
Hello everyone... I have just had a chance to catch up on the posts. Apparantly my fish recipe caused quite a commotion. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I would love to be completely Vegan, because I agree with all of those ideas. But I have several things working against me: 1. I am severely allergic to dairy/lactose. 2. I am also allergic to corn. That means corn syrup, corn flour, maltodextrin..etc.etc. Most " Natural Flavors " may have corn. America loves to put corn in everything, so that makes things very difficult. . 3. I am a Breast Cancer Patient. My Cancer is Estrogen positive, so I cannot ingest anything that has PLANT ESTROGENS either. That means no Soy. I have had a hysterectomy/oopherectomy as well. so I would love to be able to take black cohosh root, and soy, but I cannot. 4.My Doctor insists that I eat some chicken and fish to get enough protein and fatty acids in my diet. I take all kinds of supplements, but they still really don't know what works to prevent a recurrence. I check this website often, because I have found recipes that even I can use. I have two step siblings that are Vegetarian. They live in New York, and one of them eats fish. So, that is why I labeled the recipe " for those who eat fish " so unsuspecting non-fish people(term?) would not have to read it. I will refrain from posting anything that is not Vegan. I wish you all a happy, healthy Day! Sincerely, Paula
Guest guest
I empathize with your health problems and how difficult it must be to eat a strict vegetarian diet given those limitations of what you can safely ingest. I do feel for your situation, and if I were in your shoes and had to eat chicken and fish as a matter of life or death, I would; no question. It would be difficult as I don't like the taste, but I would do whatever it took to stay as healthy and alive as I could. I don't think anybody here was trying to make you feel bad about that as none of us knew that was where you were coming from. I hope you will continue to post and enjoy this list.
