Guest guest
Hello, I am new to your list and I guess vegetarianism. I just have a few questions about protien and such that would be really nice to have answered. About how much protien should I eat in a day. I am a small female (about 100 lbs, 5 foot tall) so if someone has the right amounts for my size, that would be such a huge help. Also, what are some good protien sources other than tofu (which is obvious, lol). I personally really don't like and won't eat the rather traditional souce of beans, and was wondering what I could do to make sure I get sufficient protien. Thanks a lot Iris
Guest guest
Hi artemis/Iris Welcome to vegetarianism! I can't answer your specific questions about protein (hopefully someone will) but I can say that contrary to popular belief, you'd be hard-pressed to find a food that DOESN'T have protein. Or to quote Vegetarian Times: "Getting enough protein shouldn't be a problem for anybody who eats a wide variety of foods. What's more, plant-based sources of protein are healthier, since they don't contain all the saturated fat and cholesterol that animal products do (not to mention all the hormones, antibiotics and bacteria often found in meat)."
