It also (unlike virtually all the other B vitamins) stays in the body for a *long* time. If you read the article carefully, the mothers in question were vegan (or nearly) for 7 and 30 years. If you eat any reasonable amount of any animal products--or have anytime in the last 5 years--it is almost impossible to be deficient unless you have absorption problems.
