Guest guest
What about Western Europe, like Ireland and Iceland ;o( I hate when people say the "British Isles" or "Southern Ireland". As Donegal is in the North and thats in the Republic. Anyway, I've never heard of CEE in my life. I heard of EEC (European Economic Community) about 20 years ago and thought that's what she meant. Anyway I'm sure the same applies to outside the EU, in Eastern European countries with regards to food. It's not a thing that effects one country. Pests and diseases can effect the whole world. Think of it as a biological attack that effects animals and plants!!! "Keely :)" <squeely wrote: Oh, and by the way... CEE stands for Central and Eastern Europe. I assume that is what Irene meant by CEE. Keely - Irish Veggie Monday, January 27, 2003 9:40 AM To Irene, smuggling food on airplane What is CEE? Do you mean the EU? European Union? Yes there are food restrictions in the EU. Ireland has shops inside the airport that sells dairy, meat products etc. But that does that mean its legal to buy them and travel to the US with them. Those shops are in the airport, for the likes of people traveling on internal flights, example, Dublin to Cork. I think people have the idea of what to bring. The best idea would be to book in advance for a vegan/veggie meal on your flight. They are usually good.(if you get the veggie meal in the 1st place). (Admittedly, England was about ten years ago, so thismay have changed) and found no problem. Actually, in the Rome transit areayou can buy Italian foodstuff including cheeses and many salami style things(I'm not sure which because I didn't look), which of course you can open inthe airplane and nibble if you wish. There is a prohibition about plants and seeds, though. When I bought acarnivore plant from Paris to Athens to help me fight mosquitoes (a badidea, the whole thing was too disgusting!), I had to smuggle it, and thesame went for when I bought some beautiful white eggplant seeds in a satchetfrom India.IreneTowards_health_and_beauty/ Friendly supportand guidance to everyone struggling with weight and wellness problems.contact owner: -owner Mail list: Delivered-mailing list List-Un: - no flaming arguing or denigration of others allowedcontact owner with complaints regarding posting/list or anything else.
