This is just plain not true. Every country has its own rules. In

Australia, for instance, you are only allowed to bring in canned products

(at least according to *some* authorities), but my husband did have

something of a hard time even with that. (The official story is that

you're not allowed to bring in any food, but an embassy worker said " maybe

canned goods " , and he had to explain and show what he had with him.) In

Israel, they don't care what you bring in or out. In the US, you're

allowed to bring anything out, but little food in, but, again, a *lot*

depends on the customs agent. In most of mainland Europe, you can bring

almost any food in. (Check with your local embassy/consulate before taking

*my* word for it!)

Not in Europe! With Foot and Mouth!!! You can't bring anything in, I live in Europe and I know. You can bring sweets as I worked in Dublin Airport. So its not "untrue"
