Guest guest Posted January 17, 2003 Report Share Posted January 17, 2003 I personally feel like the best way to make smoothies is to use frozen fruit. Many people add fruit in with ice, but some blenders just can't handle crushing the ice. I place the fruit in some kind of container w/ a lid & put in the freezer the night before I'm going to have the smoothie for breakfast. Peel the banana, take the pulp out of an orange, trim the stems on strawberries..whatever you have to do before putting them in the freezer so that you can just throw it in the blender in the morning. YOu may need to adjust these recipes if you want more bulk, but I find them to be very filling: 1-2 bananas 5 strawberries 1/2 orange 1-2 bananas handful of blueberries (this is my fav..comes out looking purple) 1-2 bananas 1/2 mango Note: If I'm going to drink it immediately then I will usu add about 1/4 cup of milk or soy milk. If I'm running around getting ready and it has melted a little, I'll just spin it a second or two and drink it w/ just the fruit. karen Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
