GLUTEN STEAKS

3-3/4 Cups Instant gluten flour

Hello,

What a wonderful recipe. I rarely have time to post and I've been meaning to ask if anyone used gluten flour and had a recipes for ages!

I have a whole bag of gluten flour, but it didn't come with any recipes. I was just told to add 1 cup of flour to half a cup of of water and put in your soy sauce, onions whatever for seasoning and that was all. I've had a hard time getting it to come out right and so this is a wonderful recipe to try with the remaining flour.

Thanks so much for posting it.

Pam

I am SO sorry for not posting this last night. I got

so sleepy that I could barely keep awake. I knew you

would all understand. :) But hey here it is. Just for

you all. :) I hope you will enjoy this as much as I

did. It really is easy to make tho it may look very

hard but really it isn't. :) Have fun. Just so you

know, what I have done is freeze the 3 logs and just

used them whenever I wanted some steaks OR you can

cook them all up and freeze them and fry them later.

If any questions feel free to ask me okay? Like I said

I really love these gluten steaks and my mother in-law

must have too cause she had about 3 or so slices of

them LOLOL Of course they are called just Gluten but

I called them gluten steaks.

GLUTEN STEAKS

3-3/4 Cups Instant gluten flour

1/2 cup white flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup Minit Tapioca

4 Tablespoons yeast flakes

3 Tablespoons chicken seasoning

3 tablespoons garlic powder

3-1/4 cups cold water

1/4 cup soy sauce

Mix the dry ingredients together and stir well to

blend. In a large bowl mix the water and soy sauce.

Dump dry ingredients into liquid all at once and stir

fast. Knead well. Cut in 3 pieces and shape into logs.

Wrap in plastic (I used tin foil with a little bit of

oil so that it wouldn't stick to the gluten) and

freeze overnight or until firm. Cut into slices and

simmer for 1-1/2 hours in the following broth.

BROTH

13 cups water

1/2 cup soy sauce

1 clove garlic

1 medium onion

2 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chicken seasoning

4 tablespoons yeast flakes

Once slices are cooked, dip in the following mixture

and fry until lightly browned. Or you can use your own

kind of mixture like I did. (white flour, chicken

seasoning and a little bit of salt)

DIPPING MIX:

3 tablespoons yeast flakes

3 tablespoons wheat germ

3 tablespoons flour

2 tablespoons cornmeal

3 tablespoons corn flakes or bread crumbs

seasonings to taste.

with a Mission " .
