Guest guest
Happy Sunday, If any of you who collect veggie recipe books come through Eugene, check out the Smith family's books stores. They have 1000s of used books and usually many types of veggie cookbooks ones, since it is a popular way of life here. I know that Powell's in Portland is a good resource too. I found my original post for gravy #5957 but not misplaced the n.yeast " cheese dip " at the moment. I got distracted looking at Megans old recipes here and was just salivating over her tofu whipped cream mentioned in her list...could have had it over my pie. Here's a good use of leftovers... Basic grainburger: quick oats and left over rice using hot water to get a good consistancy - just moist enough to hold together. A little olive oil will add to texture since you will bake the burgers in patties. 350 degrees and turn over once (cookie pan) Other ingredients include: nutritional yeast, onion and garlic powder, dryed herbs, fresh garlic and onion, and tamari (soy sauce) or salt. I have added chopped or left over veggies and/ or nuts [peppers or bellpepper are spicey addition]. This is a quick, cheap way to fill the bellies of hungry kids and party guests and goes good with condiments. :-) david*
