Guest guest
About the Jiffy corn muffin mixes...(and possibly others) Well, I hope I'm not wrong, it's been some time ago... but the last time I checked their ingredients list, they contained LARD. LARD, as you probably know, is from animal fat. :-P I stopped buying them for that reason. You might want to read thru their list of ingredients. Guest guest
Thanks for pointing this out.. Jiffy mixes are still made with LARD after all these years. It is impossible to be vegetarian without reading labels! THere is also oysters in w.sauce unless you get veggie style I believe but havent looked lately. I brainwashed my kids to read the labels and learned " read the label, set a better table " fro Dick Van Dyke's tv bits back when. Start today!! We vote at the grocery store. ;] David , " cheryll " <naturalist_44240> wrote: > About the Jiffy corn muffin mixes...(and possibly others) Well, I > hope I'm not wrong, it's been some time ago... but the last time I > checked their ingredients list, they contained LARD. Guest guest
THere is also oysters in w.sauce unless you get veggie style I believe but havent looked lately. Usually there are anchovies, not oysters in worcestershire sauce. Not that one is better than the other. Still it does certainly pay to read the labels. I had no idea that jiffy mix would have lard in it!
