It's a book of low-fat vegetarian recipes, so I can't wait to munch on this one. :-) This might even make a nice addition to a thanksgiving table. Megan GLUTEN ROAST 1 T. soy sauce 1 T. olive oil 1 T. onion powder 1 t. garlic powder 1/4 t. black pepper enough water to make 1-1/2 c. liquid 1-3/4 c. vital wheat gluten 2/3 c. water 1 T. soy sauce 1 T. olive oil 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees farhenheit. 2. Mix together the first six ingredients: 1 T. soy sauce, 1 T. olive oil, the onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper and enough water to make 1-1/2 c. liquid). 3. Stir the liquid into the vital wheat gluten until it is well-mixed, and the liquid is absorbed. 4. In another bowl, mix togehter 2/3 c water, 1 T. soy sauce, and 1 T olive oil. Pour half the liquid into a loaf pan. STretch, pull, and push the gluten to fit into the pan. Pour the rest of the liquid over the gluten, cover, and bake for about 75 minutes. Serves 6-8.
