If you add files under this name, then anyone else can log in using this same login info and change/move/addto/whatever the files. Of course we would all have to use it for it to work, and someone could go in there and create havoc if they had a mind to. Well, here you are, Kris! I just went and did it. Now the group has a new member. User name: quickvegetarian Password: FileUser Secret question: Pet's name? Answer: Pussycat Name: Lorna Doone I put " no mail " in options, of course, as I don't want to get this group forever doubly. The risk, of course, is that someone will want to play tricks and will change it to " individual e-mails " one day, and I'll get flooded. But it's an address that isn't important to me anyway, and anyone can add other addresses to link it to. It wasn't as easy as I thought, because when I put my e-mail address and verified it, it told me that this address is used by another ID (myself), so I changed it and put an alternate e-mail address, one that I don't use. Then I tried to send this message from my home address and told me I'm not a member of this group. I think I fixed it, I'm not sure what happened. So, if I understood rightly, this ID, quickvegetarian, can be used by any of you who wants to upload files and then the same person or any other can add comments to those existing files. Just take care that if you are already signed in with your regular ID you must log off, then log on again as quickvegetarian, then if you want to post to the group as your regular self log off and log on with your regular ID: otherwise your posts will have quickvegetarian as a signature! As somebody said, a rule should be that nobody will alter a recipe. If we want to add variations, we can do this at the end. Good. Let's see now if this works!! Guest guest
THANK YOU IRENE!! I'm a bit behind in mail, but am glad to see that you did that. And you explained how it works VERY well, I think. If I had known it was going to actually be done, I was going to suggest using a "bogus" (of sorts) email address (like I have with usa.com to catch junk mail resulting from "freebies"); that way if the email gets accidentally set to send individual msgs, one person doesn't get bombarded with duplicates. LOL You are right though that we MUST be careful to sign in and out of it based on what we are doing so that noone forgets they are in the "community" ID and starts changing email options. Hopefully it will work out where everyone finds it easy and convenient to use, and certainly allows for more flexibility & access. I mean, if I mis-file something, it would be great if someone could move it to the right place rather than trying to catch me by email to tell me where it needs to go. Last I noticed, there was still discussion about the categories and what should go under which, so I gather there will be quite a bit of file reloacting til all the wrinkles get ironed out. Next time I go to , I will sign in under the new community ID and see what happens. And I promise I wont reset the marketing preferences to send you a bunch of junk mail! LOL (I hated when threw that in there, with the default set to ACCEPT all that crap! By the time I saw that notice about it, I was already added to every spam list on the internet, I'm sure! I'm STILL trying to get rid of it!) Thanks again for your effort, as well as the efforts of everyone who has painstakingly worked to get the files up and running! God Bless, Vivian
