Question/Comment re: Files usage

I LOVE the idea of using the Files section! Been trying to get my other group to do it since we are at 99% message capacity (we are VERY chatty LOL) but it's too much "effort" you know - truthfully it's very easy, most just dont know how to SIGN IN.

ANYWAY, my question is will there be some sort of indication made when recipes are posted to the group to indicate whether they are also in the Files?? Sort of to keep down duplicate saving. That way for those of us who want to use the Files, we wouldn't have to save the emailed version too.

I'm sure some will want to send recipes as usual thru the group, but may not have time to copy them to files, so if everyone would just say something like "In FILES" if the recipes are there too, it might save some confusion and duplication along the way.

I have only skimmed thru recent posts, but noticed the instructions for creating a file. We can also upload existing files from our computers into the appropriate folders there, so wouldn't even need to copy/paste. I did that with another group, both with Word docs and PDF files and it is actually quite easy. That way if there are pictures and formatting that don't copy well to text files, nothing gets lost.

Thanks to those who set the files up; it really IS a great way to keep things ORGANIZED and easy to access!!

Thanks & God Bless,

Vivian

Sadness looks back. Worry looks around. Faith looks above.

YAY! I'm glad someone will want to make use of the files. :)

There is a checkbox that you can check when you file a recipe there,

and that sends a notice to the group. However, I didn't do that

because the notices are annoying to most people, and are likely to

fill up people's mailboxes. It's easier to just go look for

yourself. will not allow you to put a file by the same name

as one that's already there, so that should at least slow down

duplication... that and the categories.

Yes, good point.

You're welcome! I've worked on it for several days, so it's nice to

be appreciated and to know that what I've done is of value to

others. Also, some others have contributed, I see, so thanks to

them!
