Guest guest
Not to stray too far off topic, but once you start reading about what is really in pet food... ick. Just to preface that though, alot of what is on the web is not entirely true, so be cautious as to what you read and believe. On the other hand, there are a number of good books about natural pet health care out there, unfortunately, the one that I read I can't remember the title for. Some people do feed a raw diet to their pets, otherwise called BARF, or bones and raw food. I still am not doing this, although have considered it. My vet is OK with this and suggested that if I do do this, to ask her for help. I totally agree. Find a good vet and get them to recomend books and a beginning diet. It's way to complicated to causually jump into without a considerable amount of research and medical support... The reason I don't do this is the expense and time. I don't have much to spare in either catagory. I feed a commercial dry food, though an expensive one. The natropath vet book that I read suggested this as one of the OK dry foods. It is Solid Gold, though there were a number of other foods on the list. This is just the one that my dog likes. It has human grade food, lamb meat and no wheat, soy or corn, all big allergans in dogs. He's doing much better on it, though my vet, who thinks this food is great, still feeds Pedigree. Go figure. Best of luck. Genie susi hall wrote: I bet it also ends up in our pets food. I have been toying with the idea of making my own pets food lately. Does anyone do that? I saw some recipes for it, and you have to put in pet vitamins for it to have the proper nutrition. I would rather regret that which I have experienced than wish I had experienced that which is past.
