Guest guest
I'm new to trying out "homemade" mixes and this is pretty good. Shara Vegetarian Rice Mix (from Make a Mix) 4 cups uncooked long grain rice 3 tbsp instant vegetarian boullion 2 tsps salt 4 tsps celery flakes 4 tsps onion flakes 4 tsps red pepper flakes Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir until evenly distributed. Put about 1 1/2 cups mixture each into three 1 pint containers. Label and store in cool, dry place. Use within 6 to 8 months. To cook 4 to 6 servings (this makes enough for side dishes in this amount, but for a "meal" we only get a 2 to 3 servings :-)) Combine 1 package of rice mix with 2 cups of cold water and 1 tbsp of butter or olive oil. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 to 25 minutes or until liquid is asorbed.
