Ah

- ok, thanks. I wasn't sure if that is what she meant - or

like the vegetarian replacement for mincemeat pie (which is something else all

together).

I've

recently used Quorn in a family favorite recipe. I made the regular one

as well, and then everyone tried both. Everyone preferred the vegetarian

version (:

She

meant 'hamburger substitute' or 'ground beef

substitute'.

She lived in England and wrote her book there

(although

she was an American).

The

British call ground beef 'mince' or 'minced meat'. My

husband

is English, so I can usually 'translate'. :)

I'd

use something like 'Gimme Lean' or those (Morningstar

Farms?)

'crumbles'. TVP would probably work also and be a

lot

cheaper.
