Guest guest
If you haven't read it, Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, is a really good read if you want to be turned off by chain stores and processed foods. And as most of you know, the reason that french fries taste so good is the beef tallow that they are fried in. Even in today's modified frying techniques, it's still in there. And, according to the book, their fries as a result, have more saturated fat than their burgers. I'm still reading the book and is extremely disturbing, but good to know info. What really gets me though, is the " religous " folks who have no problems buying the cheap eggs that are produced so horribly, and that they know it, only because they are cheaper than the free range eggs. Maybe it is because most folks have never set foot on a farm, but this farm kid for one buys the expensive eggs and tries to take the higher moral ground... Guest guest
Well, I eat eggs very rarely if at all, and I would buy free range anything before I'd buy the regular store kind....but in the area I live, they don't offer those options. Out of curiosity, what do they do to the eggs? I'm one of those people who's never set foot on a farm!
