Hi-

 

Don't know about kids, but found an interesting site on nutrition.

 

<www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/etext/000105.htm>

 

Click on food composition, then click on searchable database.

 

Type in the name of the food you want nutritional information for.

Press return.

 

It will tell you exactly what that food has in terms of protein and

nutrients (and anything else you can imagine). It is somewhat

difficult to assess the information at first, but if you type in a

few " comparison " foods, you can quickly get an idea. For example, I

compared the calcium content of whole milk (119mg per 100 gm serving)

with spinach (99mg per 100 gm serving).

 

It also lists lots of commercially prepared foods.

Yes, there's a mistake. The URL needs an 'l' after the

'htm'.
