Guest guest
I know that you can buy a rice cooker/steamer thing at WalMart ect... but really, I prefer the ones sold in Asain food stores. My friend has a Tiger brand and it is really great, mine is a Zojorishui and it is pretty good. I have had friends with the wally version and frankly, mine works soooooo much better. Unfortunately, it also costs more. I think mine is a 12 cup and it was $90... But, the way I see it, who eats more rice than Asians? They obviously know what they are doing. I've never looked back on buying mine, and I'm a grad student, reallllly poor. Oh, I cook brown rice all the time in it. I've also cooked quinoa and it's OK, but I think stove cooking for that is better. If you've never tried quinoa, it's great! Has a cruchy texture when cooked and there are these little corkscrew things that seperate off the grain (the curved endosperm). It'll provide a change of pace to rice and has a more complete amino acid complex than rice, too. Genie Sports - sign up for Fantasy Baseball http://sports.
