Guest guest
This is a flavor-base seasoning recipe I picked up at wild oats grocery. (If you have one in your area, stop by! They have all sorts of recipe cards for free!). Anyway, what i like to do is mix 3-4 tablespoons of this in about a cup of breadcrubs, roll some tempeh fillets in them & throw them on the old george foreman grill. :-) Drizzle lemon juice on them and they make some pretty decent fake fish fillets. And like I mentioned, this almost reminds me of the seasonings my mom used for fried chicken when I used to eat meat, so it should make a decent chicken flavoring. Megan ALL-PURPOSE FLAVOR BASE 1 c. nutritional yeast flakes 1 T. salt 1 T. sage 2 t. paprika 2 t. thyme 2 t. garlic powder 2 t. onion powder 1 t. black pepper 1 t. ried marjoram 1 t. rosemary 1/4 t. nutmeg Use 1 to 2 tablespoons of this seasoning mix to boost the flavor of soups, stews, sauces, dips, dressings, & casseroles. Combine all ingredients in a blender & pulverize. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
