Hi Dawn

Here's a recipe with silken tofu that was posted recently. I can't get tofu

where I am so don't really use it, but the silken version seems to be

generally used for desserts as a sort of cream / cream cheese substitute.

I'll leave it to the others to correct me if I'm wrong!

Regards

Liz

tofu desserts question

hi everyone!

I have a recipe for a banana cream pie which asks for 1 1/2 lbs of

silken tofu. I only have regular tofu, is this ok?? Thanks in advance

for any advice!

Here is the recipe for anyone who is interested:

Caroline's Banana Cream Pie

3-4 ripe bananas, chopped

4 tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 pkg extra firm SILKEN tofu (Mori-Nu)

Combine all in blender till smooth. Pour into baked pie crust, chill

till set.

It also makes a good scrambled egg substitute if you drain it a bit first by placing it between two plates and putting some cans on top to weight it. 10-15 min should do. Then mash it and add some nutritional yeast and a shot of tamari. Heat up in a lightly oiled pan.
