Guest guest
It's no myth. Please check out about.com and put in Mary Shomon at the search there...she has written books that many top specialists totally agree with.... plus, please read some studies done on soy and its effects on the metabolism.... a doctor tested this finding, and now has hypothyroid - - - previously, she had NO thyroid problem...so, please be aware many reliable sources say that overindulging in soy products can cause the metabolism to slow down permanently, can worsen existing cases of hypothyroid, etc. (they do have guidelines for limits that are considered not overindulging, I don't recall them...) Many of the newer books on thyroid suggest the avoidance of soy for those with hypothyroid....some books suggest some people can get away with small amounts, but it depends on the individual case, too...
