Guest guest
I concur, eating animals of any kind is just not on. Had an odd debate last night with a friend, who insisted that, while he could see the ethics of not eating animals, he drew the line at clams. His reasoning, half joking, was that they resemble rocks and are no more alive than coconuts. I disagreed entirely because clams are a living animal and not even vaguely akin to the meat of a coconut. Further, if you eat a clam, it's dead. If you eat a coconut, the tree produces more. It's a nut, a kind of fruit, a renewable resource. In any case, people have the strangest ways of rationalizing, don't they?
