Guest guest
Taken from: http://www.iet.msu.edu/Regs/state/Michigan/michfishconsum.htm " Link to state web site: http://www.mdch.state.mi.us/pha/fish/index.htm. History of Fish Consumption Advisories in the Great Lakes States Sport fish advisories provide guidelines to anglers so they and their families can limit consumption of fish which are likely to contain unacceptable levels of contaminants. Michigan became the first state to issue a fish consumption advisory in 1970, following the discovery of mercury in Lake St. Clair fish. Other states have since followed suit, and 47 states now have fish advisories. A class of industrial chemicals, PCBs, is of most frequent concern. Other contaminants including mercury, dioxin and persistent pesticides such as chlordane are also of concern in most states. " This alone would make me quit eating fish!!!
