They are part of the extended and pervasive metaphor of beef and cattle

that defines Omaha, and are meant to underscore the fact that there is

virtually no difference between Nicholson's character and those doomed

cows.

 

Nor the rest of us either, come to that.

 

Far from being a bore, I found the movie layered, vicious satire that,

damn it, redeems things in the end when he realizes yes, he really does

make a difference somewhere, to someone.

 

We should all be so lucky.

Hmmm...and I was talking chicken. No matter. And yes- I did like

the way it ended. But I still feel it was long drawn out for that

message, even though- that wasn't the point of my email to begin

with.
