Guest guest Posted August 25, 2003 Report Share Posted August 25, 2003 I had a funny thing happen yesterday and most of you can probably relate. I threw a barbeque for my son's 16th birthday. I allowed my son to talk me into serving meat to his 30 or so guests (almost all relatives.) The subject of my vegetarianism came up and one of my brothers who I don't see often seemed to have a hard time with it. He brought it up 6 or 8 times throughout the afternoon, asking the usual " Well, what DO you eat??? " and " What made you decide to become one of THOSE? " but the funniest thing he said was: " I could accept everything else, but a vegetarian?!? Now that's hard to take. " Note: I'm a neo-pagan buddhist lesbian democrat anti-gun anti-drug pacifist weirdo, and he loves me to death even tho he's a 30-ish white male good-ole-boy type. I stop eating meat, now I'm really " out there. His type loves to imagine scrogging a hippy-type and being the man enough cure to your wanton lesbo ways.
