Well, the basic difference is the kind of high one gets, obviously. Some

are hooked on one kind of intoxication or another, that's all.

 

All drugs are drugs, I'd agree, and most of the illegal ones are that way

for political, not medical, reasons. Why can't a free and responsible

individua indulge in the drug of his or her choice without worrying about

law? Control and profits, pure and simple. Which is how politics get

involved.

 

However, from a health standpoint, I'd advise against any drug that alters

one's perceptions, on the grounds that our perceptions are all we have

when it comes time to decide things that may end up being a matter of life

and death, or at least a good sandwich versus bad shoes.
