They are about the size of a standard soup bowl, round, and we cut off the top, hollow out the insides and toast them in the oven a bit. Then serve the soup ladeled right inside the bread with the scooped out bread hunks on the side for dipping. After you eat the soup, or as you eat it, you can tear apart your bread bowl and eat it right along. I hope the aquarium has improved their treatment of the sea creatures from when you were there.
