Guest guest
Hi all! I have been quietly listening, mainly for support. I have been vegetarian for two and a half months now and I am all alone in this. My husband is a fisherman and a hunter. I am writing to ask for a good resource for my dietary needs. I am currently finishing off some prenatal vitamins. When those are gone, I am thinking about continuing with those. I am also curious about going Vegan and have no idea all the things to avoid. What is a standard daily diet for a vegan? Any help/advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance. Kel P.S. You all have been a great support!! Very helpful. I'm not alone!! A standard daily diet for a vegetarian/vegan is everything but the meat and animal products. I didn't make any more major changes than that. If a recipe calls for meat and you want to eat it, just substitute some fake meat or even just leave it out. If it calls for cheese, usually you can just omit it or use some fake cheese, tofu or whatever other cheese substitute. Eating as a vegetarian is really very simple when you boil it down to the basics. There are so many substitutes out there that if you want to maintain some similarity, all you have to do is make the regular meat dishes and put a substitute in it. Think about all the side dishes you might make with a meat meal and just eat those instead. That's pretty well how I started when I lived at home with my parents and they were cooking. I never made a big deal about it or stressed out about it. My mother did and made me go to the doctor. Even the doctor wasn't concerned about anything but iron. They tested my blood iron and it was fine. I haven't had it tested since and actually, I have never felt better!! Good luck!
