Guest guest
Hello There are several kind of yoga. Occidental people we know hata yoga and we practice it. With hata yoga we learn to work with energy (our energy and cosmos energy) so, for someone serious in this practice have to be vegetarian because we need a proper body to work with. When we want to follow Bhakti yoga or spiritual yoga (we can talk about it if someone wants), we need a Sattwic diet. Basically we don’t use onion, garlic, eggs, coffee and regular tea, wine or any type of alcoholic drink, salt (a Master taught me to use a little bit of salt, because it’s so hard to take off salt completely), sugar, we don’t use butter but ghee, (clarified butter it’s very easy to do). We don’t use anything in the kitchen or refrigerator that was touching with some kind of food we don’t eat. The reason we take off all that is because when we work with mantras (kind of prayers) we need a very purify body and we offer to God our food before to eat it. We can share Sattwic recipes too if there are people interested on it. Some Hindu people follow this regulation but a lot of occidental people do it too. Personally I follow Sattwic diet. Thank you for your interest and if you can set up this questionnaire will be great. Kali SBC DSL - Now only $29.95 per month!
Guest guest
This is very interesting, Kali. I'd like to hear more about your sattwic diet. Can you recommend any book which describes it in detail? Dave Kali Kamir [kalikamir05] Thursday, July 03, 2003 8:29 PM Sattwic diet Hello There are several kind of yoga.
