Guest guest
how the fastfood nation mentality thinks > nothing of tossing the wrapers and rubbish everywhere but in > the proper place. I spent half a day here in Albuquerque picking up trash along I-25 as a community service project (not criminal) through this group I belong to and I noticed that the vast majority of the trash was fast food wrappers. I thought it would be cans and bottles from soft drinks, but I was wrong. I propose that all fast food vendors be charged a TAX on their product to pay for the cleanup since it is their product that is literally littering our highways. The tax can go to pay the non-profit groups who pick up their product and they can then use the money for charitable purposes. Just my $.02, but now I'm thinking that the people who purchase the products will justify throwing it out the window as a means to support the non- profits and the fast food companies will want to write the tax off as a charitable donation........hmmmmmmm.....just can't win, can we??? Guest guest
I like you idea, but you are probably right in thinking they will just use it to further their image and as a tax write-off; Ronald McDonald Houses come to mind here. Perhaps non-profit groups could collect the rubbish, divide the wrappers up in separate bags to show which fastfood joint had the most of its product tossed along the roadside, then it could be used as evidence for local authorities to fine them some non-deductable penalty charge. It is so true that the more fastfood places in a town the more litter one sees along the streets and highways. Makes sense that the type of person who has so little regard for their own health would have very little regard for the health of the planet. ~ PT ~ The creator made man able to do everything -- talk, run, look and hear.Ê He was not satisfied, though, until man could do just one thing more -- laugh.Ê And so man laughed and laughed, and the creator said " Now you are fit to live.
