Guest guest
>>Seriously, I do find some kinds of posts annoying - and yes, sometimes yours too, Gene - but I find more distressing the idea that we want to force everyone to the same pattern.<< As one who complained quite loudly over the past week, let me add that I never sought " sameness " and would never seek it. I focused only on specific attitudes that I would neither tolerate on-line nor off-line--attitudes which I believe devalue others on the list. And, if I am ever rude like that to anyone on this list, I fully expect the same response. Fair enough? >>And, yes, totally off topic...thank heavens Canada has made sane laws about same-sex marriage. It's about time!<< I applaud Canada for being so bold. In a free society, how can anything less be acceptable? Might I add that not everybody south of the Canadian border approves of the behavior of our rogue government either. The days leading to the 2004 elections ought to be interesting times. I expect an even greater loss of personal freedom and at least a couple of things that will further shock us. Hopefully, nothing as bad as 911. Dave
Guest guest
Well, I'm certainly with you on this ;=) I can't imagine why we would want everyone's posts to be the same. And I must say that if anyone were to start picking at mine I might do what I have done in the past - retaliate. And what's wrong with skipping posts that we don't like? I find lots on this list not to my taste, but do I shout out 'Oh no, not another rotten quick-fix open-two-cans-of-junk-and-nuke-it so-called recipe' or 'Keep the damned deserts (or was that desserts? *LOL*) to yourselves' or whatever? No? Well, if it's a free-for-all for who and what we don't like, then I just might *LOL* Seriously, I do find some kinds of posts annoying - and yes, sometimes yours too, Gene - but I find more distressing the idea that we want to force everyone to the same pattern. And, yes, totally off topic (and not included in my excerpt of the post I'm responding to), thank heavens Canada has made sane laws about same-sex marriage. It's about time! Best, Pat - another Canadian - who actually is not a very tolerant person at all, disliking a bunch of things like bigotry, complacency, stupidity, goody-two-shoes-ishness, hatred, hatred, hatred . . . - but I'm still here ;=) > but I wanted to add my $0.02 worth as > well.
