Guest guest
Fasting is really great, if you can do it. Some people just can't, they don't have the physical or emotional ability to go without food for a long period of time, which is understandable. I fast usually one day a week, and at times I'll go longer, (longest was four days, but after passing out twice in one day, I had to go off it). My reasons for doing it are...umm...different than most people's, not something I'd want to get far into, but it truly is wonderful. You feel so light and airy, and you're giving your body a chance to " clean house " , as it were... Just make sure to drink a lot of water, and I even have hot tea, diet soda...any drink as long as it has no sugar or calories... ~ P_T ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: If I may ask, why and when (how often) do you choose to fast? Do you do it for detox or health-type purposes? I ask b/c I have heard about the practice from some before, but am interested in it from the POV of someone who actually does fasting. Aside from the religious or shamanistic aspects of fasting, I know very little about the benefits. ~ PT ~ Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time. ~ John Lubbock
