Sometimes I wonder at us all - okay, not *all* ;=) - carrying on here as if we have invented vegetarianism and as if we were truly in a tiny minority of one or two per cent of the population - or lower. There's a whole world out there, I have to remind myself from time to time, and people have been avoiding me*t in their diets for centuries - others have been able to afford it so rarely they might as well be called vegetarians. As for religions out there that understand vegetarianism - no shortage of them either - I don't know why anyone would be surprised. In many cultures our me*t-eating friends would be the oddities. As usual, it takes me two pars to say what one member can say with a phrase and a sigh.
