Guest guest
On Jan 17, 2002, I weighed 209 lbs. Today, I weight in the low 170s. Here's what matters to me--diet, exercise, lifestyle, and moving past the nonsense and hype. I lost most of those extra pounds within 4-6 months without fasting. Let me make this very clear, IMHO fasting is not for weight loss. Speaking of hype, ketosis is a word that quickly divides people. Some see it as a problem and many veggie websites agree with that point of view. I do not! After reviewing considerable medical and research literature, here's why. Ketosis is a natural process in a healthy human body. Deny it or not, the body goes into ketosis every night while we sleep. Every diet that's ever been invented that reduces calories employs ketosis. Unless one overeats at breakfast, you will probably go into ketosis before lunch. Ever heard your stomach growling? Well, what do you think that was? Continuing to say otherwise will not make it so. Ketosis is not the issue. It never was, but this uninformed hype pushes people's buttons for specific actions, which are usually not the proper ones to be taken. Here's the weight loss formula as simply as it can be said. Eat less. Do more physical activity. Weigh less. Any more can lead to ketosis and other problems, and any less means you're probably not exercising enough.
