Guest guest
I've been sick and wound up relying on prepared foods lately: bean burritos, salads, oatmeal, cereal bars, etc. It seems like all starch and fat when I look at it. I need to eat more greens and lean protein. Aside from salad, can someone suggest some greens that can be whipped up in a flash? Also, IYHO, which is best: fresh, frozen or canned? Guest guest
IMO it doesn't hurt to eat vegetables raw. So if you don't feel like cooking just eat it raw. I think fresh veggies are the best, but if you don't want to get them fresh then frozen are much better then canned. btw...I'm sorry you've been feeling bad. I hope you get better soon. :-) Janice ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused. Guest guest
My fave thing (and cheap) to do w/ veggies is this -- get a couple of bags of frozen veggie mixes (I like broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, mushrooms, peppers, onions, peas, and waterchestnuts), mix them all up together in a pan and turn on medium heat. The melting ice gives you enough to start the saute, and then once they start cookin, add some soy and teriyaki sauce. Serve over rice, noodles, or nuttin. For a protein kick, try one of the Oriental flavored tofu chunks. It's cheap, makes for a few meals, and is wicked healthy. Enjoy! Oh, and feel better! -K , " ~Janice Macak~ " <serenity1@m...> wrote: > IMO it doesn't hurt to eat vegetables raw. So if you don't feel like cooking just eat it raw. Guest guest
Thank you for all of the ideas I've received. I really like the one about taking frozen veggies and making stir fry. I'll try really hard not to burn it *GRIN* Laurie _______________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
