Guest guest
I am aware of the amphetimines, and did make enough of a connection to ask my Doc to look into seeing if I am ADD......I have thought I was ever since I heard of it years ago.....but since I was already an adult most Docs just laughed my questions off..... diphenhydramine [benydryl, and several sleep aids] puts me to sleep.....I actually have to break one tablet in half; which is 1/4 of the recommended dose. ~Pixx On 31 May 2003 at 21:22, starfrog wrote: > ADD types respond to stimulants in an opposite manner-hence the > prescription of amphetimines to ADD children. Guest guest
I was told the trouble I was having was stress. AD/HD runs in my family too. Both of my sons have it. I've thought I had it for the last 10 or 11 years. I finally talked to my sons psychiatrist. He's the only one who believes me. I see him this coming week to see if he's going to treat me. FINALLY!! Guest guest
And I was told I had " depression " and was given antidepressants...... this was over ten years ago. Thank god I flushed them, as now I know that I have Bipolar, and an antidepressant is a sure-fire way to go into mania, without a mood- stabilizer to balance it out! Guest guest
Yadda, yadda, yadda- the doc's will tell you kids can't be bi-polar too, if you let them. I had to research the symptoms of bi-polar in kids, cause it's completely different from what it is in adults, and find a doctor who would work with me. Same thing in reverse with adult ADD. Doesn't exist, right? I suffer from it, but the meds make me go even funnier in the head, so I consider that pretty low on the list of worries right now. The main thing is not being suicidal, which happens so much I don't even want to mention it, or so manic I am gardening at 3 am or so anxious I can't leave the house. BUT-for all you normies, there is a moral to my story. What ever you are diagnosed with, or suspect you have and your doctor won't listen, GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! Research the subject!!!! Don't ignore symptoms because some busy doctor didn't really want to take the time to listen to you. It happens all the time, with tragic results. Be as vigilant with your health care as you are with your vegetarianism. Or in my case, even more so. ~Janice Macak~ <serenity1 wrote: I was told the trouble I was having was stress.
