Guest guest
Hi all. This week I made aloo chole (Indian dish), hummus and a dish containing red potatoes with olives, feta, mint. Most of it was made for my Mom (her kitchen is still under construction). Both the aloo chole and hummus are in the files (pretty sure). I love love the hummus. That stuff is addicting. It is usually " served " with toasted pita, however I like it on a saltine with a jalapeno slice or simply dipped onto a tortilla chip. If you've never tried it, give it a chance sometime. I never thought I would like it...WRONG. As well, I made this red potato dish strictly for my Mother because it contained mint...there is no way I would like this stuff, it has mint in it....WRONG. I tried it and think it is delicious! The feta and olives give it a salty taste, while the potatoes and mint balance it out. I love it. I will be posting the easy and quick recipe shortly...here and in " quick veg2 " . I've been learning to try new things. It's easy being safe, fun being adventurous. Ok, it's just food, but ya know what I mean. Shawn Once, during Prohibition, I was forced to live on nothing but food and water. - W.C. Guest guest
Way to go Shawn. You are right to try new flavors. I like to play around with different recipes and taste combos, like that Greek pasta recipe. I never would have thought to put cinnamon in a pasta dish, and when I read that meat recipe in a cookbook I thought it sounded gross. But cutting back on the cinnamon and making it with vegetarian ground tvp, it was very good! I am also addicted to hummus; love it. I enjoy adding the jalapenos and sundried tomatoes right into it. Just give them a bit of a chop up. Fresh salsa and roasted garlic are great stirred into hummus, too. ~ PT ~ P.S. Yeah, I get motion sick on rides now. Bummer. Back in the day I loved all the rides. Something shifted in my late teens; I still remember the day of that rude awakening! bleh *lol* ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~> , " _- matrixenos -_ " < matrixenos@h...> wrote: > Hi all. > > I've been learning to try new things. It's just so fresh tasting and yummers...add jalps and ya got a party! Less ride tickets means more funnel cake money...Have fun!!! S.
