Guest guest
I know, we don't eat steak, but who ever said steak sauce was only for meat? I rather like a delicious homemade sauce to put on my vegetarian " meat " replacement items such as veggie burgers and the like. This recipe is really good on those. I have even drizzled it on my Quorn chicken-like tenders. Steak Sauce 2 cups ketchup 2 garlic cloves, minced 2/3 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup vegetarian Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup vinegar 1/4 cup say sauce 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar 2 Tbs prepared Dijon mustard Combine all of the ingredients in a 3-qt saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Strain if desired. Cover and refrigerate. Yield: about 3 cups Be the change you want to see in the world. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
