Don't apologize for noticing the bitterness, I put it there on purpose.

And I agree, there is good in everyone. Some have buried it so deeply,

however, that it isn't cost-effective even to strip-mine.

You'd think. But we've explained dozens of times. They are hostile

toward us left-wing liberal tree-hugging vegetarian freaks who deserve to

die because we're traitors for thinking on our own, etc. You see? The

bitterness is well-placed, well-deserved, and well-aimed.

Now this is an example of ignorance, not hostility. She was good-hearted

and trying to accommodate and knew no better. When you showed her, she

understood and had fun with it. My family has experienced this, too. I

never said everyone is a creep about it.

You're incredibly lucky, then. We face outright hostility as often as not,

and ignorance isn't even the start of the problem, as they know all too

well.

Oh boy, can I relate to that *LOL* This is why I have learned (at the

young age I'm at - hah!) *finally* that there is *no* point answering

questions about why one is vegetarian and about what one eats ('but you

have to have *some*thing to eat' - and then they offer you a limp

salad).

 

As for my other peculiarities, I would add atheist and pacifist to your

list - and you can tell where that gets me - and my husband - when

people catch on ;=) Best advice I could offer anyone is keep a low

profile - you'll last longer.
