Guest guest
I emailed the folks who make Veat when this first came up. I specifically asked about the origins of the whey protein. I've pasted their response below. I'm not sure why they think I'm a vegan (I'm not), since all I asked was if their products are suitable for a vegan diet. Anyway, Veat is not vegan. And now we know. I also suggested they add this information to their FAQ, so people could find out easily. -- Sherri " I think people should be free to engage in any sexual practices they choose; they should draw the line at goats though. We are always interested in hearing from our consumers and appreciate knowing their reactions to our products. Unfortunately, I have to say that Veat is NOT 'Vegan'. This is due to the fact that Veat contains 'Whey Protein', which is a derivative of dairy. The 'Whey Protein' is a binding agent for the soy and we have been researching alternative products as a substitute. However, we have had little to no success in finding an acceptable replacement to the 'Whey Protein'. I do not know if we will be able to remove the ingredient. I am sorry to be the bearer of the bad news and I am sorry that we may not be able to keep you as a Veat consumer. Thank you for the interest in our products and the opportunity to be of service. Is the whey protein from animal sources or vegetable? (Just a suggestion, but you might want to include this in your FAQ. It's a question I've seen come up more than once on vegetarian mailing lists, and no one is ever sure of the answer. It would be nice to just be able to point people to a web page for the answer.) Thanks in advance for the information. -- Sherri " Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. " - M. Kathleen Casey
