Guest guest
from the whey protein institute: Whey proteins are high quality and nutritious dairy proteins. Milk contains two primary proteins: casein and whey protein. When cheese is produced the liquid whey separates from the 'curd' or casein. The whey proteins are then separated from the liquid whey and purified to various concentrations of whey protein. The graphs below provide more detail on the composition of milk. from webster's dictionary: whey \Whey\, n. [AS. hw[ae]g; cf. D. wei, hui, Fries. weye, LG. wey, waje. ] The serum, or watery part, of milk, separated from the more thick or coagulable part, esp. in the process of making cheese. Note: In this process, the thick part is called curd, and the thin part, whey. while there may be instances where a soy whey is produced, generally it is assumed that if a product contains whey, it is not a vegan product. however, i'll write to veat and see what they say. http://www.melodysmusic.net
