Guest guest
forgot to mention of course the many decent Chinese and Indian places one can often find but, of course, it can be an exercise in blind faith when one asks if this or that dish is prepared with meat. Guest guest
When overseas I head for Indian or Chinese or Thai - that kind of thing - because that's the likeliest place for veggie food. In New York (*not* overseas for us now, of course - just over the border ;=)) last month we did Thai and also Korean - but of course they spoke English in NYC ;=) - of a sort (hah - only kidding, honest ;=)). I think it's probably a safer bet - because of the large number of strictly *religious* vegetarians of those cultures. After all, when speaking of Indian food, remember the suit brought against McD's because of Hindu vegetarians finding there was beef extract on the french fries after all McD's saying they were veggie ;=) Sorry - don't want to start up *that* discussion again, but just to explain why I think it's pretty safe. Not necessarily *vegan* of course.
