We had a Dr insist that we give the little one whole milk, even though we explained that she had severe stomach cramps from it. We were told that " she needs it " . :~( Yeah, and I even heard that if the child has not ingested the offending substance recently, they will not show a reaction. I'm not willing to risk him having a severe asthma attack, or bronchitis, just to find out if he really IS allergic to milk, when keeping him away from it serves just fine. To answer PT, why does the cafeteria insist on testing or a doctors note? They say if they have a note from a doctor, they can give him juice instead of milk. But with no note, they can only give him water. But, if I send the soy milk boxes, they can give him them instead... Seems stupid to me. Like I said, he prefers to pack anyway, so it's just easier to let him pack and not worry about him getting something that will make him sick.
