Guest guest
I'm in a bread baking mood, it seems. I don't eat much bread, generally, but the bf and his kids eat a LOT of it. Lately I've wanted my hands in dough, so I've been baking it for them. The bf and I don't like white bread, and both prefer hearty loaves with multiple grains and crunchies, etc in it. I've made a few different ones, but I'd love to get my hands on anyone's TnT favourites. So.if you bake bread (machine, or by hand) do you have a favourite recipe that uses a variety of grains and produces a good, hearty loaf? Extra thanks if its low in fat, since that's an additional concern around our house lately (room mate is on a diet, and bf is watching cholesterol/triglycerides). -- Sherri Entropy requires no maintenance. Guest guest
Dang Sherri, you're makin' me hungry! *lol* My idea of making homemade bread these days is to buy those bags of frozen 1 lb/ bread dough from the freezer section of the grocery store, so I am rather humbled by your rolled up sleaves and floured elbows. I have just not had much luck with the whole bread making process, and I have tried. One day it is my goal to master that craft. I do have a wonderful recipe for hearty sandwich bread that does not require yeast. It is a basically a non-sweet healthy quick bread that is utterly fool proof. It is called Yogurt Herb Bread, and I will put it in my next post. Give it a try sometime and let me know what you think. I love it toasted and made into a veggie sandwich. You can also add " crunchies " to the recipe...like sunflower seeds, whole oats, and the like; be creative. ~ PT ~ Being taken for granted can be a compliment.Ê I t means that you've become a comfortable, trusted element in another person's life. - Joyce Brothers ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~. , Sherri <sherria@o...> wrote: > I'm in a bread baking mood, it seems.
