Guest guest
This is a very easy recipe to make an elegant soup. I can't wait to have a garden bed full of basil. Cream of Basil Soup 3 cups vegetable broth 1 cup minced fresh basil 1/4 cup margarine or butter 3 Tbs all-purpose flour White pepper to taste 3 cups milk 1/2 cup sour cream In a saucepan, simmer broth and basil, uncovered, for 15 minutes. In another saucepan, melt butter. Stir in the flour and pepper until smooth; gradually add milk, stirring constantly to keep smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir 2 minutes until mixture begins to thicken. Reduce heat; slowly stir in broth and sour cream (do not boil). Yield: 8 servings We meet at very short intervals, not having had time to acquire any new value for each other.Ê We meet at meals three times a day, and give each other a new taste of that old musty cheese that we are. ~ Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
