Guest guest
I have noticed something different in my grocery stores. I'm not talking about the little farmer's market places I visit, or my local healthfood store. Rather I am talking about the bigger national chain stores like Albersons, Fred Meyer and Safeway; that type. I have been able to find a greater variety of convenient vegetarian products. Before it might have been only one brand of vegetarian sausage or meat replacement product on the shelves, if I was even so lucky as to find that! Now I can be assured of finding several different brands; not always at one location, but quite typically within the same 5 mile radius. I know " Joe the grocery store buyer " isn't just doing it to be nice to me. They will only keep stock of these products if people are buying them. They are in the business of selling food to make a profit after all, and I am surely not skewing their marketing demographic reports. All this encourages me. I can see firsthand that I am not alone. Obviously many others are buying these products and increasing the demand for healthy meat-free alternatives. If you aren't living in a region where you are seeing this same sort of trend, do not despair. You can feel quite certain that in time it will come around. You can even speed things up a bit by taking a proactive stance and simply asking that your grocery store manager begin stocking some of these items. ~ PT ~ Be of good cheer.
