Guest guest
ok, first things first: veggie restaurants in ny! this is my old stomping grounds (i also know the best ones in chicago and in los angeles and in various other cities, in case anyone needs the info-- thus is the life of the chick who travels much). my absolute favourite, even though it isn't always consistently fabulous, is the VEGETARIAN DIM SUM HOUSE on pell street in chinatown. make sure you get the sweet & salty dumplings! i'm one for fried food, but they are SO good, and it's a small enough portion that you don't have to worry too much about that. other yummy places: -HELANTHIUS -- macdougal st. near houston/prince-- chinese/japanese. excellent. -CANDLE CAFE -- third ave/74th st. -- eclectic american. a bit of a splurge but well worth it. -BACHUE-- 21st st. between 5th/6th-- latin americanish. AWESOME place for brunch. -VEGE-VEGE II-- 3rd ave between 36th/37th-- chinese. one of the better vege chinese places, imho. -ANGELICA KITCHEN-- 12 st/2nd ave. again, a slight splurge, but worth it. hope that gives you a good head start! re: milk-- as to whether or not milk is " bad " depends on what reasons you mean for it being " bad. " moral? health? let me know and i can better help you find the answer to that question (or at least let you know where to look to help you find your own answers). i personally don't consume milk and eggs due to moral reasons, and i came to that conclusion through my own research. i don't like to push my views on others, but if you are interested to know where i got my info from i'm happy to help. re: cookies: the only thing i can think that might have given your cookies an off taste is too much baking soda. is that a possibility? re: food processor/juicer: hands down, get yourself a vitamix!!!! expensive, but SO worth the expense!!! hope this helps! melody http://www.melodysmusic.net
Guest guest
My reasons for minimizing milk are health related rather than moral. As a veggie for 22 years, it appears to me that milk is one of those foods with ample info both to support it use and it's nonuse. Although there are reasonable substitutes for butter, sour cream, ice cream, and yogurt to name just a few related products, their public availability in restaurants is not that universal yet. Nice website. Good luck in your music career, Melody. Dave Nadiana1 [Nadiana1] re: milk-- as to whether or not milk is " bad " depends on what reasons you mean for it being " bad.
