Hello dawn. :) I also love sprouts. I haven't made any

of my own in years, and it is quite easy. I think I am going

to do it again soon b/c of your inspiration. Radish sprouts

are so yummy. Do you know of a good source to buy the

seeds cheaply?

Here is a recipe for baked beans that we enjoy. It calls for

navy beans, but great northern will work just fine, I am

certain. I hope it works out well for you.

Molasses Baked Beans

2 lbs dry navy beans

5 qts water, divided

1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 1/2 cups ketchup

1 cup butter or margarine, melted

2 large onions, quartered

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup molasses

1 Tbs salt

1 Tbs liquid smoke or BBQ sauce

Place beans and 2 1/2 quarts water in a 6 qt. Dutch oven; bring to a

boil and

boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat; soak for 1 hour. Drain and

rinse beans;

return to pan with remaining water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat;

cover and

simmer for 1 hour or until beans are tender. Drain, reserving cooking

liquid.

Return beans to pan; add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover

and

bake at 350 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until beans reach desired

consistency,

stirring occassionally. Add some of the reserved cooking liquid if

too thick.

Yield: 16 to 20 servings

I go to the health food store for my sprouting seeds... I actually

got the radish seeds on clearance for the big bag, and since I have a

much lower ratio, I can see why! :) I don't know anywhere else to

get the seeds, but paying for the seeds is much cheaper than paying

for the unknown quality of the sprouts at the grocery store...

Thanks for the recipe!
